Matthew is a first-generation Nigerian-American physician who built the map he never had as a student. He earned his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M and his MD at UTMB, completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at UT Southwestern, and finished a spine fellowship at USC. That road — fifteen years from saying “surgeon” out loud to becoming one — shapes his focus at Future Legends: showing students what the path to medicine actually looks like, step by step.

Christopher Murdock, MD

Christopher is a physician and biomedical engineer who helps students turn big goals into practical next steps. He earned his biomedical engineering degree at Mercer University and his MD at the University of Miami. His work in research, mentorship, and medical technology shapes his focus at Future Legends: helping students find opportunities, build a plan, and follow through.

Fifteen years, and nobody to ask.

First-generation Nigerian-American. No doctor at the dinner table, no playbook, no one to call. It took fifteen years from saying "surgeon" out loud to actually becoming one.

Every step had a right order and a wrong order, and nobody told me which was which. I applied too early, shadowed too late, picked the wrong research, and found out about deadlines from other people's mistakes instead of my own plan.

The part nobody handed me was the map — what to do, in what order, and who to ask. So I built it. That's this.

Future Legends Medical Academy isn't a shortcut and it isn't a guarantee. It's the map I wish someone had put in my hands on day one, taught by people who actually walked the road.
